Friday jumps card marks start of new Ballinrobe season
A bumper crowd is expected for the opening race meeting of the year at Ballinrobe on Friday when for the first time in two years there will be no Covid cap on crowds.
The all-National Hunt card will be the first of ten fixtures to be staged at the popular Co Mayo track. Ballinrobe’s racing season runs from April to September with eight jumping fixtures and two flat meetings.
The highlight of Friday’s fixture is the €16,5000 McGrath’s Limestone Works Handicap Hurdle on a card which features four other hurdle races and two bumpers, including the final race of the evening sponsored by the Connacht Tribune Newspaper Group.
