Cork and Mayo battle for a place in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-finals, there will be no shortage of Galway links in both camps.

Cork and Mayo meet on Saturday in the All-Ireland quarter-final on Saturday at 4pm, while Kerry face Tyrone at 6:15pm. Both quarter-finals take place in Croke Park and both fixtures will be broadcast live on GAA+

Former Galway manager Kevin Walsh is currently part of the Cork senior football management team in a coaching role. The Killannin native has been involved with the Rebels for the past four seasons and has helped oversee an impressive recovery following their Munster final defeat to Kerry. Cork responded with All-Ireland SFC victories over Meath and Donegal to keep their championship hopes alive.

Walsh previously managed Galway from 2015 to 2019, guiding the Tribesmen to Connacht Senior Football Championship titles in 2016 and 2018. During his tenure, he appointed Paddy Tally as Galway coach ahead of the 2018 season. The Tyrone native is now part of Andy Moran's Mayo senior football management team.

Tally is joined in the Mayo backroom team by former Mayo footballer Colm Boyle. After suffering a Connacht SFC semi-final defeat to Roscommon, Mayo bounced back with a win over Monaghan before narrowly losing to Tyrone in the second round of the All-Ireland SFC. Moran's side kept their championship campaign alive with a victory over Meath last weekend in round three.

Meanwhile, former Galway coach Cian O'Neill, who helped guide the Tribesmen to All-Ireland final appearances in 2022 and 2024 as part of Pádraic Joyce's management team, is now in his second season with Kerry. O'Neill is a member of Jack O'Connor's backroom team as the Kingdom bid to retain the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship title.

Galway have been drawn against Dublin in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship quarter-final on Sunday at 4pm in Croke Park. The game forms part of a double-header, with Louth and Monaghan meeting at 1.45pm. Both matches will be broadcast live on RTÉ Two.
