BUNOWEN COMMONAGE, LEENANE, CO. GALWAY

Three hugely attractive parcels of land will come under the hammer when Spencer Auctioneers hold their spring land auction, this year being held at Keane’s bar in Maam Valley at 11am on Friday week, May 8.

Demand and interest have been high in all three lots of land that will be up for purchase on the day – all three of them in the heart of Connemara.

The first lot is a one-third undivided share of the Bunowen Commonage, which in total extends to 330 acres. The share being sold equates to 110 acres.

This desirable Commonage is located between Leenane and Letterfrack, and it boasts both good road frontage and easy access.

The claimable area for the Department of Agriculture is circa 105 acres and there is a AMV of €95,00.

Lot 2 is further west towards Roundstone where there is one undivided seventh part of the Arkeen More Commonage being auctioned.

The total Commonage extends to just under 450 acres and this share provides 64 acres of undivided Commonage.

Again, there is good road frontage on the bog road from Roundstone to Clifden and there has been strong interest in this parcel. The AMV for this parcel is €65,000.

The final lot is 44 acres of lands owned outright at Glenlusk, Cornamona, and the lands are of good mountain grazing land, enclosed post and wire and stone wall boundaries, in good, gated entrances. AMV for this lot is €70,000.

There is every expectation that demand will be strong for all three of these three parcels of land.

Interested parties should contact Spencer Auctioneers on 091552999 or Luke Spencer on 0879214467 with any queries in advance of the auction itself.
