Plans for Knocknacarra residential development refused
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Plans for a residential development in Knocknacarra have been refused. Colin Naughton had sought to carry out the works in Bay View on Gentian Hill. Colin Naughton had sought a combination of retention and permission at the site to provide a number of residential units. County planners rejected the development based on five main considerations. They stated that the proposed retention of six apartments to be converted to four apartments is contrary to the Development Plan policy regarding conversion and subdivision of dwelling units. Planners also stated that the development of a substantially sized carpark in the rear garden would be out of character with residential dwellings in the area.
