Perks Funfairs loses out on Salthill summer contract

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The landmark funfair beside Leisureland is being operated this year by Derry-based company, Curry's Amusements. Following a tender process, Galway-based family-run operator Perks has failed to secure the contract for this summer. Perks has operated in the high-profile location beside Leisureland on the Salthill promenade each summer since 1978, but the contract has been put out to tender by the Board of Leisureland for the last few years. Jonathan Perks says they're disappointed, but they'll try to make a return to Salthill next year when the contract put out to tender in early 2015.
