A Romanian woman has been ordered to stay out of Galway city and county or go to jail for a month under new Public Order legislation.

25 year old Rubla Muntean, of 29 Boot Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, pleaded guilty to begging and obstructing people using an ATM machine at Mainguard Street on August 27th this year.

Judge Mary Fahy sentenced Muntean to one month in prison.

However she suspended it for twelve months on condition Muntean be of good behaviour and stay away from Galway during that time.
