Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Winter vomiting bug is causing visiting restrictions at UHG
The hospital is appealing to the public not to bring children in and to adhere to visiting restrictions and hygiene guidelines.
General Manager, Galway University Hospitals, Ann Cosgrove, says there are a number of patients with symptoms of the Winter Vomiting Virus and as a precautionary measure to help prevent its spread they are appealing to the public not to visit the hospital at this time.
She added the hospital is under tremendous pressure and they simply can not afford to lose beds because of virus outbreaks
She's particularly asking people not to visit if they are ill themselves or have been recently.
