WEST MAY GET NEW STATE OF THE ART MEDICAL LABORATORY

A new stand-alone highly-automated laboratory for tests ordered by GPs could be based in the West if a plan to restructure the state's laboratories gets the go-ahead.The HSE is awaiting the approval of Department of Health officials for their new plan to completely re-structure lab services nationwide. It's thought the lab for the West would be based at University College Hospital Galway.
