VOLCANIC ERUPTION IN ICELAND CAUSES CHAOS AT GALWAY AIRPORT

Date Published: 15-Apr-2010

Flights in and out of Galway airport have been cancelled as Irish airspace shut-downs from 12noon as a result of the danger posed by a cloud of ash from a volcanic eruption in Iceland.

It means a complete shutdown of operations at Dublin Airport and a cancellation of flights at regional airports such as Galway and Knock.

At Galway Airport all early flights to Luton, Edinburgh and Manchester were already been cancelled.
