Visiting Restrictions back in place at University Hospital Galway to help curtail the spread of the ‘Winter Vomiting Virus’

The hospital is appealing to the public not to bring children in and to adhere strictly to visiting restrictions and hygiene guidelines.

The ‘Winter Vomiting bog’ is widespread in the community and people who have symptoms such as ‘upset tummy’ should not attend the emergency department but contact their GP in the first instance if they have concerns.

Also, people who are unwell or have vomiting or diarrhoea, or have had vomiting or diarrhoea in the last two days are asked not visit the hospital.
