VERDICT DUE IN BALLINASLOE MURDER CONVICTION APPEAL

The Court of Criminal Appeal will rule later this morning in the attempt by a County Galway man to have a challenge to his conviction 26 years ago for the murder of an elderly woman, heard at the Supreme Court.55 year old Michael Joseph Kelly of Ballinasloe was convicted in 1983 of murdering 87 year old Margeret Glynn at her home at Keeves, Ballinkore Bridge in 1981.His lawyers argue that they have raised issues of exceptional public importance in order for the appeal to go to the Supreme Court.
