VALUE FOR MONEY REVIEW OF GALWAY COMMUNITY SCHEMES

Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton is to carry out a 'value-for-money' review of Community Employment schemes - many of which are in Galway.

Galway East T.D, Paul Connaughton says he was concerned about cuts to such schemes announced in the Budget.

However, following talks with Minister Burton, he is now hopeful that the materials budget for community schemes will not be cut.

However, Independent Galway West T.D, Noel Grealish, wants the cuts to CE schemes entirely reversed.
