UNION AGAINST TO UHG MANAGEMENT TENDER

Date Published: 26-Oct-2011
Trade Union IMPACT says it will instruct its members not to co-operate with the new private firm employed to run University Hospital Galway.
IMPACT claims that under the Croke Park Agreement the HSE has to talk to unions before it can implement new structures.
The HSE has yet to award the 15 month contract to one of five private companies, two Irish and three English, competing for the tender.
The successful company, expected to be announced soon, will provide a CEO for UHG as well as senior management positions for the regional hospital in Limerick.
