Uncertain future for NUI Galway bike scheme

Galway Bay fm newsroom – NUI Galway has stated that it is unlikely that there will be a buyer for the previous operator of the bike scheme at the university. The scheme, which was run by UK firm Grand Scheme Limited, was Ireland's first bicycle hire scheme outside Dublin. The service was suspended in November of last year after the operating company placed itself in liquidation just two months after the launch of the scheme. NUI Galway says it is continuing to search for viable options to replace the scheme or secure a suitable alternative.
