Ulster Bank is to close its Glenamaddy branch in May.

It's part of the branch footprint review which will see five banks and six sub-offices close in the Republic of Ireland.

These include other branches in Cavan, Westmeath, Offaly, Mayo and Kildare.

Customers from the Gleanamaddy branch will have their accounts transferred to Tuam.

The Irish Bank Officials Association says the news is disappointing, but the bank's reiterated its commitment to operations here.
