UHG RESPONDS TO CLLR CUDDY'S PARKING PROPOSAL

Management at University Hospital Galway say they recognise the difficulties facing patients and visitors at the hospital regarding parking, and are trying to address the issue. The comments are made in a letter to Councillor Jim Cuddy, who lambasted the hospital last week for not responding to his suggestion about outpatient parking.Councillor Cuddy wrote to the Hospital Manager in April and May proposing that a portion of the hospital carpark be reserved for outpatients. He only received a reply from hospital management last Friday [20/6] which states that there is a Traffic Management Strategy for the UHG site which is being implemented on a phased basis.Councillor Cuddy says while the letter generally refers to parking at UHG it does not address the problem of outpatient parking.
