UHG EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT CRISIS LEVELS AGAIN

Date Published: 16-Nov-2011
The Emergency department at University Hospital Galway has once again exceeded full capacity, with 51 patients on trolleys.
Figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation also reveal that three patients are on trolleys at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
The INMO argues that overcrowding at emergency department is compromising patient safety.
There are currently 25 beds closed in UHG and 91 closed in Merlin Park.
