TWO YOUNG KAYAKERS FOUND SAFE AND WELL BY GALWAY RNLI

Two people in kayaks were found safe and well last evening [21/5] following an air and sea search by Galway RNLI Lifeboat and the Irish Rescue Helicopter Service.The two male youths were reported missing by a concerned family member at 7.30pm - an hour and a half after they were due ashore in Kinvara. The Coastguard tasked two Rescue Helicopters from Sligo and Shannon to the area. They were joined in the search by two RNLI Inshore lifeboats.The Sligo helicopter located the two teenagers at the entrance to Kinvara Bay. Both youths were still in their kayaks and did not require medical assistance.
