TWO MAJOR CITY PROJECTS TO CAUSE TRAFFIC CHAOS

Date Published: 30-Sep-2010
Traffic delays are expected across the city from next week as works begin on two major projects.
Work will begin on the upgrading of the Seamus Quirke Road which is expected to take around 14 months at a cost of 7-million-euro.
Essential refurbishment works to the Wolfe Tone Bridge will also begin next Wednesday (Oct 6th) and are expected to last a fortnight.
Traffic crossing the bridge will be restricted to one lane for around six hours a day with the times to coincide with low tide.
City Councillor Padraig Conneely says the projects will cause "traffic chaos" and will need to be well managed.
