TUAM PUBLIC MEETING ON HOUSEHOLD CHARGE

A meeting outlining opposition to the Government's proposed household charge will take place in Tuam tonight.

The 'campaign against household tax' group along with local activists have organised the meeting to discuss building a campaign of resistance to the charge.

The proposed payment will initially be set at 100 euro per household, however there are fears that the charge could increase in the future.

The meeting takes place at the Corralea court hotel in Tuam at 8pm.
