Councillors raised concern at this week’s meeting of Tuam Town Council regarding an alleged delay of over an hour for an ambulance to take a Tuam assault victim to hospital at the weekend.
The assault on the young man is alleged to have taken place on Tuam’s Dublin Road early on Sunday morning.
According to Cllr Martin Ward the young man had to be covered with blankets for over an hour while waiting for an ambulance to take him to UHG.
He said serious questions have to be asked regarding this delay
Tuam Gardai were called to the scene and the young man was treated for head injuries at the Galway hospital and admitted for observation.
