TUAM CHOSEN FOR GARDA OUTREACH SCHEME TO TEENAGERS

Date Published: 10-Nov-2010

Tuam is one of four areas in Ireland chosen for a pilot scheme which will see Gardai reaching out to local teenagers.

The Town Council’s General Policing Commitee was told the news by Inspector Michael O’Dwyer at this weeks meeting.

The Inspector said that Garda Hugh Gallagher was in Templemore College at present on a training course for the Tuam pilot scheme.

He was replying to a question from Councillor Eamon Kitt who asked if Garda links with students in their teenage years were being maintained in the area.
