TRIAL DATE FOR TUAM MAN WHO IMPERSONATED GARDA

A security guard has been sent forward for trial charged with impersonating a garda and with falsely imprisoning a man on a beach in Co. Galway last New Year’s Day.32 year old Vincent Furey,of Monastery Road, Ballyglunin, Tuam, appeared in court in the city before Judge Mary Fahy.He's further charged with the false imprisonment of a man at Silver Strand, Salthill, and with the robbery of two mobile phones from the man on the same date.On the application of Inspector Pat McHugh, Judge Mary Fahy sent Vincent Furey forward for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court on October 6th.
