Trade unions are confident a dispute involving outstanding payments to cardiac perfusionists at the city's public hospitals, can now be progressed.
It follows a meeting between hospital management and Impact trade union last evening.
At the one and a half hour meeting, the union was also given an assurance by management that another perfusionist is being hired.
Speaking to Galway Bay FM news, Padraig Mulligan of Impact Trade Union says last evening's meeting was constructive.
