THIRD MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH LACKAGH ARMED RAID

A third man has been arrested in connection with the armed raid on a family home in Lackagh on Sunday night. The 42 year-old was arrested shortly after 3.30 at University Hospital Galway and has been taken to Galway Garda station at Millstreet. He's being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. The man had been receiving treatment for a leg injury at UHG since Sunday night and underwent surgery on Monday. He's been under Garda observation since the incident. He can be questioned for up to 24 hours before he's released or charged
