THIRD ATTEMPT TO OPEN LOUGHREA NIGHTCLUB FAILS

A third attempt to open a nightclub in a protected building in Main St Loughrea has failed.An Bord Pleanala has overturned planning permission granted to Brian Winters, to redevelop 'Charlies' Bar' due to noise pollution and over-development. Galway county council gave Brian Winters the go-ahead on 4 January this year to re-vamp the 19th century protected building on Main St Loughrea - it was Winters third attempt to secure planning.
