Tenders for restoration of Loughrea Hall to be advertised shortly

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The contract for work on the Town Hall in Loughrea is expected to go to tender shortly. A delegation from the Loughrea Arts, Recreation and Cultural Group attended the final Town Council meeting in Loughrea this week. At a previous meeting, the deputation – which say it represents 20 community groups interested in the restoration of the town hall – stated that it had failed to get information from Galway County Council on the issue. Loughrea Town Council has already committed 150 thosand euro towards the project, while other sources of revenue are being persued. Director of Services Jim Cullen says the project should proceed to tender and local groups with an interest should meet to see if a joint proposal can come forward.
