A temporary pedestrian bridge across the Corrib is part of the plan for the finale of the Volvo Ocean Race in Galway next Summer.

At a meeting of the City Council last evening [10/10], John Killeen of 'Lets Do It Global' explained that the bridge would go from Long Walk to South Park.

It's to facilitate hundreds of thousands of people expected at the 8-day Volvo Ocean Race Festival from June 30th to July 8th next year.
