TECHNICAL EXAM AFTER KINVARA HOUSE FIRE

Gardai are not treating a house fire in Kinvara as suspicious after a technical examination was carried out at the scene yesterday [Apr 22].

An 85 year old man and his 42 year old son managed to escape from the house following the incident which took place at around 1.45 yesterday morning.

It took almost three and a half hours for two units of Gort fire brigade to control the blaze at the detached property on the Moy road.

It's understood the fire may have started in the living room where a fire spark may have set furnitire alight.

Gardai say the property was destroyed in the blaze which is not being treated as suspicious.
