People using taxis during Race Week are being urged to be vigilant for rogue drivers.

Galway West T.D Noel Grealish says it's a very busy time of year in Galway and often brings out 'unlicensed' and 'unscrupulous' taxi drivers.

Deputy Grealish has contacted the Taxi Regulator and the Garda Chief Superintendent in Galway, Donal Ó Cualáin.

He wants a proper policing system put in place to prevent rogue taxi drivers takes fares from people.

The Independent T.D says it's necessary to protect the livelihoods of Galway taxi drivers and to ensure passengers travel safely.
