TAOISEACH PRAISES GALWAY FOR POSITIVE MESSAGE OF VOLVO OCEAN RACE

The Taoiseach says the Volvo Ocean race finale is sending out a positive message on Galway's cultural identity.

Enda Kenny is currently attending the prize-giving ceremony of the Volvo Ocean race leg 'Lorient to Galway' at the race village main stage at the Docks.

Also on stage is Volvo Ocean race CEO Knut Frostad, and President of local organisers Let's do it Global John Kileen.

Thousands of people have turned out to watch the event.
