The Tuam Diocesan Youth Council expects a strong presence of people from North Galway at a service remembering young people to be held in Westport this Sunday evening.

One of the guest speakers will be Galway woman Martina Goggin whose only child, Éamonn, died at the age of 26 following a car crash in  2006 in their home village of Spiddal,

Martina and her husband Denis, set up a charity called Strange Boat Donor Foundation which is currently involved in the creation of a national public garden titled “Circle of Life”, in Salthill as  a place of commemoration, reflection, inspiration and healing for all.

Trish O'Brien, Director of Youth Ministery in Tuam Archdiocese says the ceremony in the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport at 5 o'clock on Sunday evening should have a strong presence of young people from North Galway as it has been promoted in Tuam four second level schools.
