The threat of strike action at Galway airport has been lifted following a ballot of SIPTU members today.

Last week, SIPTU members at the airport voted in favour of industrial action following a dispute over the renewal of several contracts.

However talks took place between SIPTU and management at the Labour Relations Commission.

Today a ballot of members of SIPTU voted to accept the LRC proposals and industrial action has been averted at the Carnmore airport.
