Storm damage affects plans for new Inishbofin health centre
Galway Bay fm newsroom - The damage caused by the recent storms on the island of Inishbofin has affected the planning application for a new health centre.
That's according to Fine Gael, Galway West T.D, Seán Kyne who says the Health Service Executive applied for an extension of time on previous planning permission for a health centre on the island.Deputy Kyne says this application has now been withdrawn because of the recent storm damage and an assessment must be carried out.Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy Kyne told Minister for the Gaeltacht, Dinny McGinley, that the HSE must invest in the health centre for Inishbofin. In response, Minister McGinley said that the Inishbofin health centre does need to be upgraded but his Department won't be footing the bill.
