Stand off over turf cutting at Ardraigue bog
Galway bay fm newsroom - A stand off between turf cutters and Gardaí at a bog near Killimor ended in the early hours of this morning.
Up to 200 people gathered at Ardraigue bog, where a ban on turf cutting is in place, over fears the machinery would be seized.
Yesterday, around 52 banks, belonging to over 50 locals were cut at the bog.
