Special meeting to discuss Galway port development

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A special meeting of Galway City Council will take place later today (23/6) to discuss the development of the port and the transfer of ownership to Galway Harbour Company. Members of the Council will discuss a submission to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications. The closing date for submissions is next Friday. Recently the Cabinet approved a Bill which paves the way for the transfer of ownership of Galway port to the local authority. Councillor Ollie Crowe says he hopes there is unanimous support for the port project.
