SOD TURNED ON NEW CHILDRENS MENTAL HEALTH UNIT IN CITY

The sod has been turned on a new 20-bed children's mental health unit in the city. Minister for Mental Health John Moloney performed the sod turning at an official ceremony in Merlin Park last evening.The new unit in Merlin Park will replace the existing St Anne's Child and Adolescent Centre currently on Taylor's Hill. It will include a children's in-patient unit, an adolescent in-patient unit and overnight accommodation for parents. The new mental health unit will also have landscaped gardens, sensory rooms and arts therapy and play areas.
