SLIGO PATIENT RECORDS FOUND IN GALWAY BOG

Medical records belonging to patients of Sligo General Hospital have been found at a bog in Abbeyknockmoy.

They were discovered in a black bin bag by community wardens yesterday afternoon.

The HSE has been notified and the Data Protection Commissioner has confirmed that it's launched an investigation.

It follows similiar discoveries in Mayo and Roscommon earlier this month.

County Councillor Peter Roche - who lives in Abbeyknockmoy - says he suspects something ''sinister'' is at play.
