SEVERAL OBJECTIONS LODGED AGAINST MERCY SISTERS DEVELOPMENT

Date Published: 15-Sep-2008
Several objections have been lodged to the Planning Appeals Board against the development of a site owned by the Sisters of Mercy in the city.Last month, planners granted permission for 120 homes, parking, a 5-storey apartment block and creche at St. Annes, east of Rosary Lane in Taylors Hill. Local residents are opposed to the plans for the site close to Lenaboy Castle, a protected structure. They have lodged objections to An Bord Pleanála citing reasons of traffic and child safety in the area. The deadline for formal objections to An Bord Pleanála is 5 pm this evening, however people can still submit an observation to the Board.
