SECOND ATTEMPT TO BUILD WASTE PLANT IN KILCHREEST SPARKS MASSIVE OPPOSITION

A second attempt by an East Galway firm to open a waste plant in Kilchreest has sparked massive opposition. Walsh Waste Ltd has lodged a second application for planning permission to convert an existing animal skin and hide curing plant in Kilchreest into a waste plant, despite being refused by An Bord Pleanála in March. Over a hundred individuals from Kilchreest and the surrounding areas are objecting to the plans. The county council is to decide on the application later this month.
