Scene of little boy's death in city building sealed off

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A three year old boy has died in an accident in a lift in a building in the city

Emergency services attended the accident on Augustine Street in the city at 3 this afternoon

The accident happened at the social welfare offices in Hynes building and is therefore deemed a workplace accident

It will be investigated by the Health and Safety Authority well as the Gardai

Gardaí say his death was a tragic accident and the incident is not being treated as suspicious

FYI Galway understands the little boy was in the building with his mother and siblings and that he was trapped alone in the lift

His body has been removed from the scene

The building has been sealed off pending a technical examination
