In what has to be a first for an Irish charity, local heart charity Croí have created a unique challenge as a fundraising venture in aid of the fight against heart disease.Croí are now looking for participants in the 'ultimate cowboy challenge’, which will take place in May 2008 at the famed 7,000 acre prairie grassland 'Colorado Cattle Ranch’in Denver, Colorado, USA. The challenge is to live and work as a real cowboy on this working ranch near the Nebraska border in north eastern Colorado. Participants will spend a week living in a bunkhouse, rising early in the morning to saddle up and work at whatever the day brings. May, which is Spring time in Colorado, will see participants busy with calving, sorting and moving cattle to Summer pastures. Checking and repairing fences and carrying out cattle drives will all form part of the daily work.
