RHATIGAN CONSTRUCTION TAKES OVER NUIG PROJECTS

Hundreds of jobs in the Galway construction sector have been secured as the contract to take over McNamara developments at NUI Galway gets underway.

Galway based company, Rhatigan construction has taken over the contract for five developments sustaining up to 400 jobs.

The projects, including an extension to the James Hardiman library at the campus and a combined clinical research building on the grounds of UHG, were left in limbo after McNamara construction went into receivership in 20-10.

Rhattigan Construction won the tender for the construction works following a rigorous tendering process for the contract.

Vice President for capital projects at NUI Galway, Keith Warnock says the developments are no longer victim to the recession.
