The deadline for an independent review into the deaths of three Irish soldiers - one of whom was based in Renmore Barracks - is now up.

Corporal Fintan Heneghan from Ballinrobe was based at Renmore Barracks when he was deployed on a UNIFIL peace keeping mission to Lebanon.

The soldiers were killed when their truck rolled over a landmine in March 1989.

The findings of the review were due on Defence Minister Alan Shatter's desk last week.
