Failte Ireland has confirmed that restoration works on the structure of Thoor Ballylee near Gort will begin on Monday [Feb 13].
The former home of renowned poet WB Yeats, which was flooded in 2009, will be fully restored.
Yeats bought the tower in 1917 and used it as a summer home for his family but the flooding of recent years damaged it and closed it to the public.
Work is expected to last for up to 3 months.
Galway East Labour Senator Lorraine Higgins says it's an important boost for local tourism.
