Date Published: 09-Feb-2009

Community activists are urging all councillors to support plans for a multi purpose neighbourhood centre in Ballinfoile in the city. The motion to build the centre in Ballinfoile is expected to come before the city council at its meeting on Monday. Residents in the Ballinfoile/Tirellan/ Bothar na gCoiste locality are hoping that this is the final hurdle for the centre. A site for community facilities was identified as far back as 2001, but no progress has been made to date.Member of the local Sandyvale Resident's Association, Brendan Smith says the wait has been too long.
