Date Published: 16-Oct-2007

There's been a worsening of relations between Galway city council officials and a city councillor.Fine Gael Councillor Paraic Conneely is claiming he's effectively ex-communicated from officials after a row from a council meeting several weeks ago escalated last night. Councillor Conneely was forced to apologise several times to officials named in the minutes of the meeting and to accept direct ruling from the chair. But City Manager Joe McGrath said his request for assurances it would not happen again was not acknowledged by Councillor Connelly and is now refusing to deal any further with him.
