Regional Assembly grants funding to Westside bus corridor
Galway Bay fm newsroom - A grant of almost one million euro has been approved towards the cost of the Bishop O'Donnell/Seamus Quirke Road bus corridor.
The payment of 0.8 million has been awarded to Galway City Council by the Border, Midland and Western Regional Assembly under a European regional development scheme.
The Westside corridor includes 1.6 kilometres of a four lane divided carriageway and a dedicated bus lane.
It also has a footpath and cycle lane in each direction.
This recent allocation brings the total European funding to two million euro.
