The redevelopment of Ceannt Station in the city aswell as plans for the Docks won't happen this year.

At a meeting of Galway City Council last night, Hugh Creegan from the National Transport Authority said there is no funding available for the project in the short term.

He added that the train station in the city centre will have to be improved on a smaller scale as the multi-million euro redevelopment won't take place in the near future.

Deputy Mayor of Galway, Ollie Crowe says it's disappointing for the city.
