RE TRIAL ORDERED OF MAN CHARGED WITH GALWAY SEX ABUSE

A re-trial has been ordered of a 46 year old man charged with sexually assaulting his partner’s two young daughters in Galway.The jury of six men and six women were discharged by a judge at Galway Circuit Criminal Court yesterday after failing to reach a verdict.The man, who can't be identified for legal reasons, denied 28 sample charges of sexually assaulting two children on various dates between January 2000, to December 2003 at a County Galway location during a two-day trial this week.Judge Groarke adjourned the matter until next Tuesday December the 8th for mention only to fix a date for the trial next term.
